Cirque Trottola (FRA): STRANO

Cirque Trottola is back at the ARENA Festival.
Five years after the successful performance of Campana, Titoune and Bonaventure Gacon return to Prague with an entirely new show, STRANO. This unique circus experience will enchant you with its atmosphere, acrobatic stunts, and captivating music. You’ll love the little and the big clown! And thanks to them, you’ll experience an escape from reality, perhaps even to a distant childhood. Come experience the magic of the circus in the unconventional setting of a red big top and enjoy an unforgettable evening.

Atmosphere:
The center of the square is adorned with a large tent. A red circus tent. A storm rages outside, but inside, light shines.
A man, perhaps a deserter, slips under the canvas into the circus tent in an attempt to escape the world, absurdity, and war. Here he finds a special atmosphere and timeless music that transports him to another, distant world belonging to memories… perhaps of the circus, perhaps of our childhood.
Clowns, acrobats, aerialists on trapeze, lights, laughter, spectators, everything shines beautifully again, everything is illuminated once more.
But soon, the reality of the outside world arrives and disrupts everything.
The artists try to savor this unique moment, which, as we know, is already lost. And even those who come later will disappear into the abyss of history.
They are moved. They mourn the minutes of eternity, which they know will also be lost. That’s why they enjoyed them so much. With tears in their eyes, they return to work, perform their acrobatic feats, and play the fool again and again, but then they collide with the incredulous and immeasurable.
They are in it with the audience! There’s no shortage of fun, bursts of laughter, bizarreness, dizziness, surprise, all of which invites us to stay seated despite it all and not fall.
So cheer up! This is a circus.

Characters and Cast:
Titoune and Bonaventure Gacon: This artistic duo is behind the creation of Cirque Trottola. They are not only creators but also experienced artists and directors who bring the performance to life.
Samuel Legal: A talented musician whose original music creates an unforgettable atmosphere for the entire performance.
Antoine Berland: Together with Samuel Legal, he creates a unique musical world that accompanies all the acrobatic feats.
Pierre Le Gouallec, Baptiste Heintz, and Sébastien Brun: An experienced technical team that ensures the flawless execution of the performance from lighting effects to sound and set design.
