A theatrical road movie in search of the one who has left, yet remains with us. About the journey toward adulthood, filled with mirrors, with a Lewis Carroll book under one’s arm. We find ourselves in a wonderland behind the mirror, where memories are as elusive as butterflies and as fragile as mosquitoes.

The play’s theme is a journey toward adulthood through mirrors and images, and a search for the path to the one who has left, even though they are here with us forever.
Lenka and Lenka. Mother and daughter—or one and the same ALenka?

Two Lenkas with the same tone of voice, connected by an umbilical cord, along which we set off together into the Wonderland behind the mirror. Our only guide is a pile of vivid memories vying for attention, among which Lewis Carroll’s hapless rabbits scurry about. A production about confronting the great departure and saying goodbye at the boundary between light and shadow.

Lenka Šmídová (December 15, 1961 – May 27, 2022), opera singer, exceptional voice teacher, a beautiful person and mother, will be waiting for us on the other side of the mirror, while her daughter Lenka stands alone on stage.

About the Snadně na dně Theater Company:

The Snadně na dně Theater Company was founded in 2023 and is dedicated to original and performance-based theater. It is a generationally diverse, independent troupe with a dramaturgical focus on current events, whose work reflects the fundamental existential perspectives of its members. As the name suggests, we seek out themes that touch on boundaries, limits, prohibitions, and the imaginary bottom.

The leading figure of the company is writer, director, and actress Martina Frejová Krátká, who is also the company’s principal director.

To date, the group has staged three productions at the Kolowrat Theater: Black Milk, Vernissage, and Five Aunts, Godotky.
